Verity Desiree Dawson passed away on 25th August 2016 having lived life to the full. She was a global citizen who lived and worked with the UNDP in India, Canada, Italy, Somalia, Zambia and eventually Barbados. During these years, she began to realise her passion for helping others and the planet by raising global consciousness through various healing modalities. She was a Reiki Master teacher, Karuna and Sekhem Master as well as a holistic counsellor and life coach. She was also passionate about Louise Hay’s Heal Your Life programes for which she was a workshop facilitator, working alongside Louise Hay and Patricia Crane.
In the ‘80s Verity brought awareness of complementary healing practices to Barbados through Turning Point. Turning Point was a mind, body and spirit bookshop; a place of healing and a vegetarian café that aimed to bring people from all walks of life, to meet, connect and share. The Barbados Holistic Directory has been created to honour Verity’s legacy and vision by continuing to connect lightworkers, healers and providers alike to offer their services to all, and in turn extend healing to our planet.
This project has been founded by a small group of close friends and colleagues of Verity’s and her daughters, Justine and Jessica – a group of like-minded people with an idea and a vision who got together with a plan. Our mission is to provide a platform for holistic practitioners and providers to connect and share for the benefit of the whole. May you feel free to share your gifts on this platform.
